It’s the Australian climate butt salute.
This striking photo was taken on a Queensland beach yesterday during the co-ordinated global protests for action on climate change.
It was organised by the North Queensland Conservation Council, who called for a #HeadsInSandSalute in Townsville to shame those who have taken Australia's climate change action backwards.
Australia's Federal Government joined with cross-benchers to scrap the tax on carbon emissions earlier this year.
And Australia's Renewable Energy Target of 20% clean energy by 2020 looks set to be dismantled.
